Mercedes-Benz Oman supports Oman’s young athletes with elite training programme .
Zawawi Trading Company LLC (ZTC) – the exclusive distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Oman and sponsor of MOSAIC Sports, the provider of the Arsenal Soccer Schools Oman programme, have hosted the Mercedes-Benz 4x4 soccer tournament at the Bousher National Stadium during the weekend.
This 4-aside tournament, covering three age categories (Under 10, Under 16 and Adults) with no goal keepers and 8 teams competing is the second event to be held at the National Stadium in recent months.
The level of competition was excellent with some really exciting games, lots of goals and even more cheering from the voluminous fans and parents watching from the sideline. The 3 winners for the different age groups were Oman Pumps (under 10), Mercedes-Benz Development (under 16) and Ma’arbelah (Adults).
Since its inception in December 2009 Arsenal soccer school Oman, whose objective it is to develop football in the Sultanate among school children, has doubled the number of children enrolling for this community programme. It is an initiative which will generate further momentum for youngsters wishing to make football their sport or even full-time career.

According to Hammond, ZTC’s sponsorship of this sports development initiative among the youth is part of the Automotive Division’s broader corporate social responsibility programme.
“We aim to help advance and nurture Oman’s talent pool of aspiring sports stars, assisting young players to reach their full potential and at the same time cultivating high-calibre sports leaders across schools at an early age,” Hammond added.
