Zawawi Trading Company Continues Driving Market Performance Recording Double Digit Sales Growth in Q1 2015
Muscat – Demonstrating that the Omani market will settle for nothing but the best, Zawawi Trading Company, the Authorized General Distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Oman, recorded a 24% overall growth in sales in Q1 2015 in comparison to last year, while its range of AMG performance car sales surged by 82%. The front seat drivers of this new milestone were the award-winning S-Class, E-Class and ML-Class.

The world-rewound AMG performance cars are considered the largest and most diverse within the Mercedes-Benz portfolio. Catering to a dynamic list of needs and aspirations, the selection of models includes saloons, coupés and SUVs as well as roadsters.
Over the past year, ZTC overhauled its business approach, centring its processes and procedures on offering a holistic customer experience. Commenting on the company’s long-term targets, Hammond added, “This growth reaffirms that our customer-centric approach is what will lead us to achieve our targets. It’s not about simply offering customers what they want when they want it, but its about delivering a consistent and excellent service quality from start to finish every time.”
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class alone saw a 40% sales growth in Oman, attesting to a market in search of status, luxury and power. Considered the true embodiment of the automotive role of Mercedes-Benz, the S-Class engineering priorities of ‘Intelligent Drive’, ‘Efficient Technology’ and ‘Essence of Luxury’ has set it apart from all other Mercedes-Benz cars, spearheading a niche market of its own.
Another bestseller in the Sultanate was the ML-Class within the SUV range, which witnessed a 22% increase in sales during the first quarter. With a compelling performance, on and off the road, the ML-Class is the definition of auto mobility, combining expressive power with refined beauty and utmost safety. Also on the list was the new ‘eye turning’ E-Class. Tailored for the rising professional youth population, its sales rose by 5% with projections for further increase in the coming year.
Building on its success, ZTC aims to grow its sales continuously by end of 2015 which will be largely driven by the launch of six exciting new products in the passenger car segment, reaching new sectors and attracting new customers. By 2020, ZTC is looking to increase new car sales by 50% while improving after-sales and labour hours by 30% and in-turn customer loyalty by 8%.
