The combination of AIRMATIC air suspension and DYNAMIC SELECT Switch results in the highest fully customisable driving experience. AIRMATIC air suspension with continuously variable damping system enhances ride comfort and driving dynamics. Thanks to pneumatic all-round self-levelling suspension, the air suspension enables a constant vehicle level irrespective of the load as well as lowering the vehicle level at higher speeds or raising it when the situation demands. And with the AGILITY SELECT switch, the driver has four different transmission modes at his/her fingertips with the ability to adjust parameters such as engine, transmission, suspension, steering, air conditioning or the ECO start/stop function.
The 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive improves traction and handling stability, particularly in adverse road conditions. The ESP® dynamic handling control system with the 4ETS Electronic Traction System makes conventional differential locks unnecessary, saves weight and noticeably improves handling safety and ride comfort. A further technological highlight is the 4MATIC drive system in conjunction with the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. The exceptionally compact and weight-saving design sets new standards in efficiency and driving comfort. This is only available in GCC countries for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC.
Of the five transmission modes, the modes "Sport" and "Sport+" feature a very dynamic setup and support the sporty positioning of the C-Class Cabriolet. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the parameters for the engine, automatic transmission, suspension in conjunction with AIRMATIC and steering can be adapted to the desired driving experience. The transmission mode selected via the DYNAMIC SELECT Switch can be influenced for example by the ride height setting for the AIRMATIC air suspension or the button for the ECO start/stop function in the particular sub-function. The driver can chose from 5 transmission modes: "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport+", "Individual" and "ECO".
The automatic transmission 9G-TRONIC was developed by Mercedes-Benz. It is the world's first 9-speed automatic transmission in the premium segment that can be used with longitudinally mounted engines. The key advantages of the 9G-TRONIC are fast, virtually imperceptible gear changes and very high ride comfort. Thanks to the wide gear ratio spread, it is possible to drive in a powerful and efficient engine speed range in all driving conditions. This results in harmonious step range and wide gear ratio spread of 9.15, which boost drive comfort, significantly improves the conversion of engine output into propulsion, and makes very short shift and response times possible. The driver also expereinces excellent noise and vibration characteristics due to lowered engine speed level and is able to change gears over multiple stages.
