Think Global Flight makes UAE stopover
Think Global Flight (TGF), an around-the-world flight promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) made a stopover in the UAE on Thursday bringing to the land of opportunity former Astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin (2nd man to walk on the moon in 1969) and his partner and creator of the TGF, Judy Rice.
The duo’s UAE tour is supported by Gargash Enterprises in association with Barrell Energy, a leading diesel supplier in Dubai. Buzz and Judy visited Gargash Enterprises’ Deira showroom on Thursday afternoon in an effort to raise awareness and charitable donations for TGF. The program provides prospects to more than 20,000 students in 21 countries across the globe inspiring students to succeed and excel in the aviation and aerospace industries.
Earlier, they were driven in an ultra-luxurious Mercedes Maybach from Ras Al Khaimah Airport to their hotel in Dubai Marina ensuring their journey was comfortable and opulent. Gargash Enterprises will be providing the esteemed visitors chauffeured services throughout their stay in full support of the cause.
Regarding the Think Global Flight effort, Buzz shares, “Back when I was privileged to be a part of the Apollo program, no one had ever heard of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In our technological, global society, students are falling behind in these areas. S.T.E.M. is exactly the focus of Think Global Flight (TGF) reaching over 20,000 students and why I strongly support Captain Judy and TGF.….This global effort needs support to raise the final funds necessary to complete the around the world flight with $100,000 out of the 1 million already earned.”
Gargash Enterprises General Manager Karl-Johan Sandesjo also interacted with the astronaut, part of the first manned lunar landing in history, along with other officials. “Connected with our passion for Corporate Social Responsibility, we strive to empower underprivileged students. We take pride in being associated with such partnerships between business, government and the social sector to address major challenges facing global communities,” said Karl.
Gargash Enterprises is positive of supporting many similar initiatives to shape CSR and to build relationships with a strategic network of key figures whose leadership and vision matter to social and economic development in and outside the region.
